Fast food or processed foods are mostly processed foods, which can lead to obesity, says Goy, and this poor diet can lead to microbiome dysbiosis, chronic inflammation in the gut. And leakage can cause complications and thus increase the risk of cancer.

Ultra-processed foods with added sugar and white flour can negatively affect the balance of gut bacteria, leading to a higher risk of developing cancer, Goy says. Many processed and packaged foods lack important nutrients and contain chemicals that can increase the risk of cancer.

According to Goy, the immune system is also affected by obesity and lack of exercise, which affects the body’s ability to fight infection and disease. Goy also suggested the best foods to reduce the risk of cancer.

According to Goy, the most effective dietary approach to reducing the risk of cancer is to eat a plant-based diet focusing on fruits and vegetables instead of meat and processed foods. Nuts and seeds should be included in the diet, as these foods contain fiber and antioxidants that protect against cancer.

With at least 15 grams of fiber per 1,000 calories, high-fiber foods may help protect against colorectal cancer and other common cancers of the digestive system.
