At least 70 miners have died in an accident at a gold mine in the African country of Mali.
According to foreign media reports, the leader of Mali’s local gold mining group has said that more than 70 workers died last week when a gold mine collapsed in Mali.
The leader of the mining group said that there were more than 200 miners in the gold mine at the time of the accident, the bodies of 73 people have been recovered in the rescue operation.
On the other hand, Mali’s Ministry of Mines announced in a statement on Tuesday that several miners had died, but did not provide exact figures.
The Government of Mali has expressed its deepest condolences to the families of those killed in the accident.
